Board’s Resolution on the appointment of CEO

THE APPOINTMENT OF MR. TRINH HOAI GIANG TO CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

On Jan 09, 2019, The Board of Directors (BOD) of Ho Chi Minh City Securities Corporation (HSC) issued Resolution No01/2020/NQ-HĐQT, appointing Mr. Trinh Hoai Giang to the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Trinh Hoai Giang will assume the new role from April 1, 2020, replacing Mr. Johan Nyvene - who has been at the position since 2007.

As Deputy CEO, Mr. Trinh Hoai Giang has been in charge of Investments and Operations over the last 13 years and played a critical role for HSC success. Before joining HSC, Mr. Giang worked in the Treasury Department of Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam and then as Director of Dragon Capital Group. He has been Vice Chairman of Vietnam Bond Market Association since 2010 and has made valuable contribution to the development of the capital markets in Vietnam. Mr. Giang was a Fulbright U.S. Scholar and earned his Master of Business Administration in the United States in 2005.

With years of experienced in HSC’s operation, as well as expertise in stock market, Mr. Trinh Hoai Giang is expected to enhance HSC’s business performance and take its position to the next level. The key pillars in his strategic plan includes diversifying products to optimize client investment performance, improving the quality of human resources, digitizing services and upgrading technology infrastructure to the highest international standards, while strengthening risk management and compliance.

Mr. Giang shared:” It’s my honor to be trusted and appointed by the Board of Directors to be the CEO of HSC. The coming period will be a transformation period for domestic securities companies when facing with market changes, competition of foreign securities companies who have strong financial resources and international operation experience. However, HSC is always in a proactive positionto prepare and adapt to market changes. In the long term, as Vietnam market has been positively evaluated by foreign investors, their participation in the market will increase sharply, HSC will also be ready to welcome these new customers.

I would like to thank Mr. Johan Nyvene for his great contribution in developing the company over the years. In the new role, I will continue to strengthen HSC’s competitiveness, affirming its position as the leading securities company in Vietnam”.

Mr. Johan Nyvene will remain as a member of the Board of Directors of HSC. His proven track record of leadership and in-depth knowledge of HSC’s operations and the capital markets will allow him to make invaluable contribution to HSC’s success.  Johan has held the position of CEO of HSC for 13 years. Under his leadership, HSC emerged from the mid-end securities firm to prominence in Vietnam.
